DC’s Business Plan
Besides the obvious that, yes, bitches DO love Batman titles, I’d like to ask this: Why aren’t you (general you, personal you; this is a rhetorical question after all) reading/buying DC’s NON-Batman titles? You know, titles like Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Batwoman, Supergirl, Batgirl (ok, so I’ve listed two Batman related titles, sue me), the Huntress mini … How about Aquaman, All-Star Western, Frankenstein Agent of SHADE or Demon Knights? There’s plenty out there that’s NOT Batman-oriented (though I have heard nothing but good things about Batwing) and plenty more, too, that feature strong female leads (Mera in Aquaman is, in my opinion, an unsung hero and grossly overlooked by those who purport to yearn for such characters).
I’m just saying, DC’s doing more good than people seem to want to give them credit for and there’s plenty of excellent cape comics being put out if you just take the time to look.
After looking at what the company’s doing in the next year and what they have on the racks, I don’t feel I’m wrong. Is it really a wonder I mostly get indie titles these days?
