So I’m reading the Gen13 miniseries (I’ll be tackling the whole thing after) and I realize that Freefall is a chain smoker. Well, not realize realize; I knew she smoked. I read this book when it was first published. I guess, just contrast that with how smoking’s handled in comics today, nearly 20 years later (and man does that make me feel old); there’d be no way you could put a cigarette in a teen’s mouth. The little things you see and notice when re-visiting comics from previous decades. (I’d like to note, too, that dainty feet and ankles seem to have been a prevalent 90s thing for reasons unknown …)
